Why my lexus es300 runnning continously on high rpm at normal highway speeds.?

Question:
MY 2000 es300 has only around 30k miles and I've always used regular gas in it but yesterday when driving back from a long trip I just decided to use Super gas. And since then the car in running at very high rpm. the rpm needle goes up just as much as speed indicator. i had to drive for about 4 hours at 65 miles an hour at 3700rpm. What could be the problem? Could it be the super gas or some other problem? and also the engine light sign was on forcouple of days ago and i didn't have to get it checked until i came back.

Anyone have parts stolen from your car when in for repair?

unless a vehicle requires a higher octane, you should never use it in today's cars. it messes up the injectors, harms the sensors and is just total havoc for newer models. the check engine light tells you it must be plugged into a tester to determine what need to be repaired and/or replaced. don't wait.

after an ice storm how do you get a car out of it??

take in and have the transmission checked

I have a ford mondeo diesel and I'm getting pretty awful fuel economy.?

Sounds like your transmission is not shifting into high gear the Premium fuel wouldn't cause this. Have the computer checked for a stored code. Any time your MIL (engine light) comes on it registers that in the PCM...(power-train control module)
Eww big words...

how to start diesel driven car in below zero temp.?

Make sure you have your transmission shift lever in the normal Over Drive position. Your overdrive may have malfunctioned due to an electrical problem that your powertrain computer detects and registers as a yellow check engine light. Your shop technician will read out the error code which is probably related to the transmission problem.
