I swapped gauges in my jeep cherokee (wanted the factory tach.) and I was kind enough to adjust the new odometer to match my old one (from 150,000 up to 230,000 miles). I found that you can very easily advance the odometer, but it is not possible to turn it back. you might be able to roll the odometer over 000000.0 and start again. the lowest digit is easy to spin by hand and will inturn spin the next digit. this will be very very time consuming.2002 renault kangoo van every so often the engine stop light comes on flashes 8 times then goes off?

It is a federal offense to alter the odometer reading of a motor vehicle. The only reason you would be doing so would to be deceive somebody, I don't care what country you are in, its illegal.There is no "situation" that warrants this action, and no ethical person will tell you how to do it.

Just want to remind you, it's a violation of state and federal law to rollback an odometer. If you think it's worth all the hassle of getting arrested, going to court, and the free publicity, probably as an individual just having to pay a fine (a dealer might get some jail time) just to make a little more selling a vehicle...then go for it.Let me throw out an idea to you that might be better...and I'm basing this on the idea that you have a high mileage car, that you have maintained very well, so it doesn't look at worn as someone else's vehicle that didn't take care of it...and that's why you're asking this question in the first place. A buyer would rather buy a well maintained vehicle, with all the records showing all your oil changes, maintenance records, etc., even with high mileage, than what you are trying to do.
