When I pull the lever I can feel resistance and hear the latch opening, but the hood will not move at all. I hhave had 3 people working on it (two trying to open and one pulling the release in the car). There are no large dents on it, and I have not been in an accident with the car.

Have someone pull the release and try pushing down really hard above the latch then pull up hard if that does not work try hitting the hood with the heel of your hand right above the latch this will sometimes jar the latch enough to let it release. It's posible that the cable is loose from the latch it could sound like it's moving the latch but it could be just the cable making noise. someone can lay down and reach up from under the front behind the bumper and with a flashlight find the cable while someone else is pulling on the release so it moves then pull on the cable really hard and it should release.....dont buy a foreign car next time....

sounds like the hood its self is jammed see it you can get somethin and pry on the hood.. dont scratch the paint put a cloth under and around the screw driver or wat ever you usehave some one pull the lever and you push it down and then try to pull it up. if not bang on the edges a little not super hard then try again.

Your hood is probably not releasing properly when you pull your hood release. I would try having a person in front of your car and lifting on the hood as you are pulling on the hood release. To fix this, you need to take off the front bumper, left inner fender, and power steering resevoir., then remove the latch assembly.

i have had that problem before. try just a light but firm rap over the area where the latch is. Also try spraying some WD-40 or some other lube inside using the red tube that comes with it. if or when you do get it open apply some white lithium grease on the latch and all the moving parts there are. and some wd-40 on the metal cord where it comes out of the protective lining and attaches to the latch. you should be fine in the futureMore Questions & Answers ...
