One of my struts is leaking. Should I replace just that one or all four?

Why isn't my 1995 Dodge Caravan upshifting?

Never replace just one strut. At a bare minimum replace them on a per-axle basis (both fronts or both rears) in order to maintain equal handling balance on that axle. Ideally though, especially if the car has in excess of 60-70k miles on it, all four should be replaced at the same time.

Can cars run on veggetable oil?

There is a significant difference in how a worn strut handles compared to a brand new one, so even having new struts just on one end of the car and old worn ones on the other can induce some interesting handling and braking characteristics. I know that when I have driven customer cars at my shop that have only had two struts replaced I almost always find the handling to be at best questionable. The car just doesn't feel right.

If your budget can handle it do all four the others may not need it, but you will have solved that next problem now and also can get a better ride if you want by tuning all the struts to they way you like to ride.
