I need to replace the timing belt in my Honda Civic and I called the dealership and they told me it would cost $359.00 for the timing belt and the outer belts. Does that seem high? I'm a girl so I know it's a possibility I can ripped off. Please help. Thanks.

Its about right for a timing belt...... but seriously a problem with the Timing belt on a 2004 Honda Civic, can't be possible. Unless you have done more than 150,000 miles on it already. Honestly it sounds like something else is wrong with your vehicle...., take it elsewhere and see what the diagnosis is. Its is highly likely that it is something else and Honda is trying to get your money's worth

that seems close to fair. i had my timing belt change on my toyota camry at a local garage i use and it was 280.00. so 359.00 at a dealership doesn't seem bad. normally you don't change those until you have around 95,000 miles. do you have that much on a 2004 model?
