I need nissan car help.?

Question:
1996 Altima ran out of gas and after we filled it up it still wont start. I have disconnected the main and return fuel lines and fuel comes into the fuel bar and out the exit. What could be the problem?
It starts on ether but wont stay runnning

The electric fuel pump is crapped up from running empty on fuel.

Timing belt change?

Electric pumps submerged in the tank require fuel to stay cool.
