Installing a 700r4 in place of a 4l60e?

Question:
i put a new cab on my truck and the wiring is for a 4l60e. i have a 700r4 in my truck and i need to know how to hook up the wiring for it. i would use the 4l60e but that is for 2wd and my truck is 4wd. it is a 91 sonoma. i also have a suburban with a rigged 700r4 in it but i didnt do the wiring. it has just one wire going into the firewall and i dont know where it goes to from there. the other 2 wires are cut and are just dangling there. the tranny works fine. but any help on how to wire it in my truck will be much appreciated.

The best fix for your situation would be to buy a lock up kit from painless or TCI.
The cut wires you mentioned control the lock up of the TCC in the 700R4. The transmission will work without the lock up feature, but you will sacrifice gas milage and increase the operating temp.
Instead of tracing your computer down to find the wires that make your TCC lock up via the computer, simply install the kit. It is around $75USD and is very easy.
Make sure the TV cable is set correctly, as instructed for optimal pressure.
I just installed a 700R4 into my SBC/wrangler and I am very happy with the results.
