How do you take the spark plug wire off a plug on a 98 dodge ram?
You do not have to let your car warm up at all before you drive it.I have a 06 and 07 VW and both of the owner's manuals say, don't warm up the car. You use more fuel by letting it sit and warm up than just getting in and driving. That's true because your Catalytic converter only works once it is up to temp, and until then, the exhaust flow is slow. Driving it warms everything up quicker.
Unless you own a old car with allot of miles, you shouldn't waste gas by warming up your vehicle.
What kind of oil do I put for a 1990 toyota seca?
because it is not good to drive when it is cold...your car could get messed up.It allows the oil to warm up which increases its performance. It's important to let your car warm up for at least 5 minutes no matter what the weather is
what are spring shackles on a truck?
The oil in the engine needs to circulate and reduce friction which causes wear and tear on the internally lubricated parts within the engine. When it is real cold oil thickens and less is distributed specially with connecting rod and crank shaft bearings.
Warming up the engine first helps to thin the oil a bit and increase distribution creating less friction that causes wear and tear. This will also enhance perfromance.
Bottom line warming up the motor increases longevity of the engine and reduces the risk of costly repair bills.
If it's an older car you let it warm up but if it's a newer car it is actually bad to let it warm up, the newer cars have a built in something or other, and with them, they just like you to turn the ignition and drive.
What should I check for or suspect when check engine light come on?
Depending on the yr you can drive your car from the get go but drive easy. When your defroster is getting warm air you can drive like you normally do. Older cars don't have engine management system to allow a fast warm up and should idle only for a minute or two any more develops hot spots inside the engine and reduces engine life. Best of luck to you, Warchild (Auto Zone Mgr)if the car is fuel injected, anything over 30 seconds is a waste of gas unless you really have to have a warm butt when you get in the car.
I have a '95 BMW 740-i with a "blown " engine ?
You don't need to warm up a car prior to driving. Just start out slowly, and take it easy until it is warm. You did most of your damage to your car when you started it to begin with. Once the engine is running, the oil is circulating.do you change back disc brakes the same as front disc brakes?
the reason is . You need to get the oil hot and circulating through the engine properly.so you don't destroy the ring's and piston's and bearing's in the engine. Trust me it will save you lots of money .More Questions & Answers ...
