Changing 1985 K5 Blazer from carburetor to throttle body injected?
If the engine cranks, the battery is ok. If it doesn't, computer codes don't have anything to do with it.If the engine doesn't crank, watch the dome light when you turn the key. If it goes dead it might just be a bad battery connection or defective battery. If the light stays on, there's another problem with the starting circuit. Make sure you're solidly in park or neutral.
The best way to troubleshoot is to have someone with a voltmeter and is familiar with vehicles poke around. They can tell you what's bad in two minutes.
If the vehicle started before the new battery was put in then put the old one back. Also check the starter and the alternator
Check and see if conection is clean. It won't charge if dirty. The alternator might have killed the other batt.
what does cel code p1491 mean on an 98 acura cl?
How new is your van. If is fairly new you man have to reinstall the computer codes. I have heard that disconnecting the battery can drop the codes. I do not know if this is true. It is something I have heard. Please tell us the YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE SIZE. I think I know what the problem but I need that information. Add that to your question and we will get it.
apparently the battery is dead, jump the vehicle and go to autozone and have them check out the charging system, sometimes you can get a brand new battery that is bad or has discharged sitting around too long.
