How to Prevent Buick LeSabre Plastic Manifold Problems?

I was thinking of buying a Buick LeSabre but have heard bad things about their intake manifolds, but I've also heard that they are an easy fix if you take care of it before it happens. Does anyone know of where to find the kits to take care of the problem? Any recommendations on how to take care of the manifold problem before it becomes a serious issue?

They can be a problem, If you are refering to the upper intake plenum, but i have never heard of anything you can do to prevent it.
Don't let that stop you. 3.8L is a very good engine.
