This is a question that always ends up in disagreement. This guy says this, that guy says that, and the Manuel tells you this. I'm a mechanic and have the secret to engine life. The secret is, charge your oil, run good gas, and keep your engine running cool. A cooler running engine will always last the longest. I know for a fact that it takes more heat to burn a lower grade fuel than it does to burn a high grade fuel. Have you ever heard an engine continue to run after you have turn it off, knocking and pinging? This is a result of a low grade fuel, it has become so hot in the combustion chamber that the fuel continues to ignite without spark. Now on the other hand alot of the newer cars will run this low grade fuel without pinging. But like I said earlier the secret to engine life is change you oil, and keep the engine cool. Running a high grade gas burns a whole lot cooler, and will also give you max performance from your engine. Being that it is a Mustang G.T. I'm guessing that you would want max performance. I run high grade fuel in everything I own, lawn mower, weed eater, chainsaw, and vehicle. I have never had a problem caused by fuel.
