Car wont start!?

Question:
I just went out to start my car to get it warmed up so I can go out with my infant son but it wont start! It's been doing this for a couple of weeks now, we know that it needs new sparkplugs and wires, if we replace these will it start like it is supposed to? This is probably a stupid question, but what can I say, I don't know much about cars! It's a 1996 Sunfire.

It may, you have to fix the know problem first (plugs and wires) and see what happens.

Where is odometer cable located at on a '02 Pontiac Gran Prix?

it could be yoyur starter. they usually don't die right away, but wear out over time (it becomes increasingly hard to start the car) or i'd check the battery connection it may be corroded.

Whitch is the best car wax? The most long lasting?

it sounds more like the gas filter is dirty.of course plugs and wires wouldnt hurt any,but it sounds to me like its fuel.try changing the gas filter first, then go from there.if its not firing, then it could be the coil pack and module.but i would lay money on it thats it is your gas filter.

can a tyre with a leak from the bead be repaired or do i have to get a new tyre?

1. Make sure you check the battery terminals.
2. Have the battery and alternator checked? Maybe a bad alternator draining the battery..
3. Also when it cranks slow maybe a sign that the starter is going bad. Check starter solenoid..
4. If it starts and stalls. check fuel system. (fuel pump, filter, injectors....)

adding used oil to my car?

I would do the tune up. If the plugs are worn bad enough it could cause the engine to miss fire on cold starts. Then it will act like its flooded (heavy gas smell ) sometimes you can hold the gas pedal to the floor while cranking this will give it max air and not allow the fuel injectors to fire it will spit and sputter but gradually clear up. The tune up would be best bet before you overheat the starter and need that replaced also.

I have a 95 Nissan. The trunk will not open either with the key or the inside latch. Any suggestions?

sounds like your fuel filter needs changed

Need good, reasonable mechanic in Salt Lake area?

change the plugs, if you haven't done this for a long time they could be just worn out, they don't last forever. If you want to be sure, remove them and check their condition, I'm betting they have very little of the electrode left. If you are in doubt, take them with you when you buy new ones and show the know it alls in the store
