at the end of the day its supposed to look like new, not covered in overspray and flatting marks... and the paint isnt supposed to peel off after youve put it thru a carwash! (ive seen too many 350 quid spray jobs... if you dont know what youre supposed to be looking for, then it'll look great..from 20 feet... heres a neat trick.. rub the top of yo0ur finger over the glass...and listen... then rub hte same over teh paintwork..and listen... alll that extra hiss.. thats the paint not flat, not smooth..

any idiot with a spray gun can do the job... its attention to detail, the prep and flat/ masking etc, and its how it looks in six months... or 6 years... thats where you see the difference.

You can do this yourself but the quality may not be as good as getting it done professionally (There is a danger of the paint bubbling, then you may get rust), you will be looking at between £1000 and £2000 depending on the size of the car and whether you have body coloured bumpers.

i just had my daughters ford ka spayed bright pink, i did all the flatting down which took a day and cost £15 in wet and dry and scotchbright, i brought the paint from a supplier for £40 and then a spray shop masked and sprayed it with 3 coats and they charged me £350 and it looks great. So all in cost me around £400....
