Question:
The car will not crank. The car has always been very dependable. When she was leaving school, the car would not crank. She had a freind jump the car off and she drove it about 1 mile. The car stalled again and i went to get it. I got the car to crank but when i reved the engine to about 4000 rpm's, there was a noticable skip that was consistant. The car would idle just fine but at higher rpm's the skip would be there. I turned the car off and have not been able to crank it sinse. Does this sound like the engine has skipped time? The engine still turns over so i know the belt is not broken. Any help?

hmmm...............oil filter gasket keeps blowing out?
There several things that could be going on here. The engine turning over doesn't have anything to do with the belt being broken or not.It does sound like you have a time belt / chain problem. If it's a timing belt, there could be broke 'teeth' on the belt that makes it skip. If it' a chain, the tensioner could be broke and causing the skip. It could also be a number of electronic devices that 'died' as well. This diagnosis is going to take a mechanic with the engine diagnoisis tool to figure out.

How do you fix an antenna on a Kia spectra?
I would agree that this is going to take a more experienced mechanic to figure this out.If your belt is weak or damaged be careful that it doesn't break. If it does you can bend a valve while trying to crank the engine.More Questions & Answers ...
