I have a 1988 chevy blazer s10 2.8l v6 and I would like to know what are my choices to get the oil pressure running right.Changing the oil pump is totally out right now,because its too expensive(the whole engine has to be moved to do that).The truck rides good and starts up good,but just when it warms up the oil pressure check gauge light comes on and the pressure falls a little.I rather get it corrected before something else goes wrong from not having enough oil pressure.

Unless the engine is clattering and losing power, the chances are the oil pressure is fine and your sensor is failing. Pretty easy to change, take off the wire, screw it out, put the new one in place and connect the wire. Did that help? I thought so.1996 subaru impreza 2.2l failed emissions because of a knock sensor. Up the viscosity of your oil to 20w-50.Other than that, there's not much you can do.

Try switching out the oil pressure sensor/switch,the pressure may be fine but if the switch does not have proper resistance it will send a false reading.My stick shift car starts, but doent run. What is the problem?
My dodge oil pressure always goes up and down. I work on my own truck and previous vehicles. I thinks its a gasket, and not an oil pump. My oil is really slowly leaking and thats why i loose pressure over a long time. That might be your problem. Usually when oil pumps go, the go permantly, the wont go on and off.
