They really do nothing to improve the driving experience. Watching the smooth needle rise on an analog speedometer or tach gives you a better sense of speed than a LED display. I've also heard that Cadillac found that most users with their "heads up" display didn't use it.I had one on a Ford years ago (without auto headlamps). What was most annoying about it that it would automatically turn on at night and you wouldn't realize your headlamps were still off.
