I have a car that lost its dim lights?

Question:
I have a car that lost its dim lights. The only way i have lights if i only hold the lever of the brights. Then i have lights. I tought maybe it was the circuit breaker because the manual says if your light go out then it could over load the circuit breaker and blow it. So i took a guess and bought the part cost me bout 20.00 dollars. Well lets just say no more guessing it didn`t work. Now to make things worst my car has a hard time starting it will turn over but just don`t want to start. I went 3 days straight getting it to start on the 3rd to 4th try. Just went out there today and started right away? Now what could this be repair shops say its the switch for the lights and for the starting they say it sounds like the starter? If anyone can help please do thank you 4 your time.

A logical place to start with your headlight problem would be new bulbs. If that's already been checked out and isn't the cause, it very well may be the switch or a couple of bad sockets.

Sounds like the hard-starting problem is either a starter or possible fuel pump.

anyone noticed burned out head/tails usually are mercedes benzes?

could be a wire somewhere in the electrical system // could be a switch// could be bad bulbs//not the starter// could also be broken fuse or a fusible link check all hot wires with 12 volt test light when you turn switch on inside car// you should get a light on test light at the headlight plug if u dont check with light between barr and starter.. then between starter and fuse panel then between fuse panel and switch then between switch and headlight plug goodluck
