Use a large flat head screwdriver. If you are unsure take it to a shop. Heck even an auto parts store can show you how to do it. Trying to explain the process without pictures is useless.

1) Raise the wiper arm and slide the locking clip at the base of the arm out a little bit to lock the arm in the lifted position, and wiggle and lift the arm off the pivot.
Sometimes, they can be quite a chalenge. But it WILL come off.

2) The outer cover (aluminum) over the base of the wiper arm lifts up to alow access to the phillips screw holding the wiper arm to the pivot rod.

Either way, the arm is under considerable tension, and that tension needs to be released before the wiper arm will slide off.
