Question:
Im currently stripping my sons rs50 engine and i wana know wht i can do to improve his performance a little bit more. His setup so far is: 70cc kit with single piston ring, uprated and faster crank, new main c3 bearings, a bigger 21mm carb (stock 14mm) with open airfilter, carbon reeds stronger clutch and a racing exhaust.
I wana know if i can do any internal work to improve the performance of the engine whilst its apart. I got told its a good idea to smooth the area on the crankcase around the crank with wet and dry untill all imperfections are out? porting? Anyone know anything else? Cheers

how can I open a rover 75 bonnet when inside catch is jammed?
Go to the 80cc kit.you can clean up the exhaust port. not sure if thats going to give you a noticable amout of performance. but better exhaust flow doesnt hurt.
i need a 4x4 sports car tuning company as local as possible to sheffield?
Sounds like you already have a lot of things going on,Polish the top of the piston and the combustion chamber like a mirror.
Then adjust the squish area to no less that 1mm.
Don't get carried away in the crankcase, you want the volume in that area as small as possible.
Leave the porting to the pros, lest you ruin a perfectly good jug.
There used to be a widely circulated book out there that I do not know if it is still in publication, called the Two Cycle Tuners Manual
which will help you match expansion chamber volume to the ports and CCs of your engine.
How do I tell which side my wheel bearing is bad on?
Skim the top of the barrel and the piston headall answers are much appreaciated..but no one seems to understand my concept...?
you've pretty much done everything you can. The next stage would be altering the ports in the cylinder but you need years of experience to do that.More Questions & Answers ...
