You repair ball joints by replacing them. Unless you are a very well equipped mechanic, you can't do it yourself. Have an auto shop or your dealership do it. Note: If the bad ball joints are on certain year (2000-2005 - I think) Dodge Dakotas or Dodge Durangos, the ball joints may be covered by a recall. If you have these vehicles and the ball joints are bad -- which many will be -- hopefully your front wheels haven't fallen off yet -- you must have the recall work done at a Daimler/Chrysler dealership. They will not cover the work done elsewhere even if it was a safety issue. I know this to the tune of having to eat $1400.What is wrong with my car? It's loud.?

Don't know what your mechanical skills are but it may require that the strut and coil spring assembly be taken out along with the upper A-arm. It would be best to get a Haynes or Chiltons manual for your car and review the procedure.How do go about finding an oil leak?
i dont see the connection , you replace ball joints when they are worn out you cannot fix them they wear out internally, big ends are a job for a skilled mechanic ,not one i could even try to interpret to an amateurI guess a doctor would be the first point of call if mine needed repairing!

the ball joint you throw away and fit new as they are non repairable ....the big end is the large end of a con rod and the other part of it is part of the crankshaft ..non of which you can repair your self ..where in my engine do i spray damp start?
ball joints are on the steering rack,cant be repaired just replaced, not an over expensive job. Big end is in the bottom of the engine, a very expensive job, gets a quote before work is undertaken on your big end, as it may cost more than the car is worth.By the way,your big end doesn't look that big, it must be the dress your wearing !
