Answers:

I have a 94 cavalier v6 with a small coolant leak. There are no puddles or dripping that I can find. Any ideas

Grab the bottom radiator hose while it's cold, and squeeze. Can you collapse it? If so, that's the problem. There is supposed to be a spring in the bottom hose to keep it open, they sometimes rust out and the suction collapses the hose, restricting the water flow. Replace it. It only collapses at speed, not at idle, so you won't notice it.

Rebuild or re-manufacture?

I'll bet you $10 you have low coolant, probably due to a bad intake gasket. Check for moisture around the intake manifold. GM uses really poor quality gaskets and they develop leaks after 70-80,000 miles.

am i being ripped off?

Cheap coolants have no lubricant, mid-quality coolants (Prestone) contain silicone as a water pump lubricant. Silicone is a solid, so it is suspended in the liquid solution of the coolant as a fine particulate.

Can a defective clock in the radio drain your battery?

The only problem is that it precipitates out of solution and settles inside the radiator and heater core. Over time, this residue builds up and plugs up the radiator and it inhibits the free flow of the coolant.

I have a 1988 acura legend?

A radiator shop can "rod out" your core for you if it's a brass & solder radiator. If you have an aluminum core/plastic tank radiator, you're going to have to buy a new one. I've only encountered one shop that was equipped to dis-assemble a plastic tank radiator, but they are now out of business.

Are alloy wheels just a bloody nuisance?

Unfortunately, radiator shops don't like messing with heater cores, you may have to buy a new one.
