what course do i need to study to be able to restore cars ?
Your owners manual will tell you what kind and how much fluid the tranny holds. If you don't have the owners mannual talk to the service department of a dealership, they should be able to tell you what you need to know.Get somebody to check the leval of your tranny fluid before you do any thing,it's not the same as checking your oil even though it's a measuring stick. There are two types of tranny fluid find out whitch one yours uses and put in whats needed. Go to a repuable garage and they will take care of it for about ten bucks but don't wait if your low your doing damage to your tranny
Need to know if it is a manual shift or an automatic first
What's a good job for a person starting school to become an auto mechanic?
There are some manual transmissions that take automatic transmission fluid.Your owners manual should be exact as to what your car requires.
30w is for lawn mowers, check the book 1st, 2nd wait until the car is warm then check your tranny fluid while car is in idle (park-running) if its a manual shift you wont be able to check it from up top. if its manual id suggest taking it to a garage to check it, gets complicated if you don't know what your looking for.
What is a good car repair site?
The person who changed the axle should have refilled the transmission.Don't drive the car until you get it filled.
Ask your Inifiniti dealer, or get a Chiltons or Haynes manual at any auto parts store, or read the owners manual if you still have it.
Some car makers recommend transmission fluid in a manual gearbox, others recommend gear oil. If the transmission has a dipstick (not to be confused with the motor oil dipstick), you can pour the fluid or oil in the dipstick tube. Otherwise, a manual transmission usually has a plug on the side, and you add oil until it reaches the bottom of the opening.
