If the oil is unburned and on the spark plug white insulator, your valve cover oil seals are leaking oil into the spark plug wells in the cover. That can cause ignition problems, so dry up all the oil deposits and see if the engine runs ok again. Install the new spark plugs after wiping all the oil out of the valve cover well holes. Also, wipe any oil off the plug wire end insulator connector.
