If im getting my hood painted, will there be any tax?

all im doing is getting my hood painted. there will be no new parts or anything so will i pay a flat rate or will i be charged tax. If i do get charged tax, what would the tax be from since its my understanding that tax is only charged on parts? thanks

The new paint, primers and masking materials could be considered to be parts, and so would be taxable... Taxes vary so much from one place to another it's almost impossible to answer your question without knowing where you live, or where the work is being done.

They're not supposed to charge you tax on labor, but they can charge you tax on the materials (paint).
