Stopped at a intersection, check guages light came on & oil pressure was at the bottom. When I pulled away to get off the road oil pressure returned to normal, when I stopped dropped back down. Checked level, a little low but still within operating range. Had oil changed about 3 months ago (5W30). Any thoughts.
223,000 miles, original engine.

yeah, put ur head insideI've always seen that to be normal. Oil pressure goes up when you apply gas. Oil pressure goes down at idle, and 0 when car is off.

.your oil pressure sending unit is going bad . if you don't get this fixed your jeep will blow up . oil pressure units don't go bad all @ once . they go bad slowly.listen to this warning get it checked out.

Switch to 15w40 oil. When at an idle, the oil pump is no longer able to keep up with the consumption or internal leakage around the bearings. This oil has a higher viscosity and will hopefully increase the oil pressure at an idle. Also, verify that you idle is at the correct RPM.
