My Speedometer went out in my car, can anyone tell me some of the causes of this?

this probably has an electronic sensor rather than a speedometer cable...so either a loose/bad connection somewhere or you have a bad sensor or cable. i think it may be called a wheel sensor, but im not sure..ive never owned a new enough car. :P
