Check your air filter, replace your fuel filter. You could have other problems, may need diagnostics, but these are two good places to start. I have seen really plugged air filters do this. You may need to CHECK the FUEL system:Fuel Pump,- might not be giving correct pressure or volume, they do fail intermediately- own experience.
Fuel Filter, might be clogged with dirty build-up from years of gas fill-ups and so-on
Fuel Pressure/Volume...make sure it's correct, i had a truck with correct pressure BUT with incorrect VOLUME- i had this tested at my trusted mechanic
Fuel Injectors might be as the fuel filter. clogged and in need of cleaning...
OVERALL i say get all of these checked and take the least expensive route first, like a Fuel system cleaning, note the steps you have taken and route your next.

I mentioned i had a truck with a failing fuel pump, it was a1988 Chevy Silverado, it would not have any GO power and it too would shut down at or coming to a stop, i took a month of "detective work" and ideas with my trusted mechanic, this is the reason why i say give your Fuel system some good attention. i hope i'. right.

I'd bet if you check the codes the computer has set, you'll get a code 34, Mass Airflow Sensor.Common problem, expensive, though...you can replace it yourself for around $150.00, more if you take it somewhere.
