If you do it wisely it should be fine. But as they say everything in moderation. It is not a manual transmission so you should not act like it is. It may make you feel good to do it especially if you used to have a manual tranny. Can anyone give me info on a transmission additive called Transmatic Slippage Control Product?
My answer is do not overdo it.

not really... but usually this method is used on an emrgency brakingAs long as you are withing the safe operating speed for a gear, you aren't hurting the tranny. Also, don't suddenly drop it in gear from high speed.

My car is idleing down when I brake of press in the clutch. Is is a bad brake booster?
NO, that's way they put a D2 on this particular vehicle. It is meant to be used regularly and will not damage your trans. Overtime like any other vehicle you car trans made need service. I suggest you flush you cars transmission and put (the brand) Conklin transmission fluid in it. By doing this you will not have to worry about your trans being damage or worn for years. Your can find your local Conklin dealer by calling transmissions shops or using the Internet. How do I build my own emergency lighting?
You won't be damaging the transmission. But you will be wearing out the tranny quicker. Downshifting on an automatic or manual is ok -- but keep this in mind it's a lot easier and cheaper to do a brake job than fix a transmission. so my advice is downshift only when it is absolutely required.More Questions & Answers ...
