Pinking noise!?

Question:
My vauxhall bertone astra g has a pinking noise coming from near the fan belt. my cambelt was changed 15000miles ago with the rollers so cant be that.when the engine revs is increased it does get faster but then disapears and comes back when idleing.also my running temp has dropped a little! any suggestions please?

i not sure but t may be the bearings on your waterpump,check to see if there is any water seaping out of it.

Well it could be excessive camshaft.cam follower wear/incorrect tolerances rather than true pinking.

Or if this is true pinking ( pre detonation ) then your ignition timing needs tweaking possibly.
