A store bought battery will work fine. unless it is a Gell battery
All you need is to look on the existing battery for the group number. somethinf like 65, 75 a two digit number. take that to the store and get a new battery of the same group number. the rest is set by the group number.
My shop is down the street from johnson Controls Battery plant. I get real good info on Batteries.
Fact is that there are only two major battery manufacturers left in the US, Exide and Johnson controls. they make them or contract smaller operations to make them. The battery from the Dealer sat on a shelf for up to a year then it was shipped out. There is a date code burned into the case or laser printed on the case. This also has the group number on it.. If you need a Gel battery that will be advised in the group number or part number on the label of the battery....
