Do you own a Salvage Vehicle? Whats your experience?
A turbo charger uses the escaping exhaust gases to pressurize the intake air. As for symptoms, a massive drop in power would be a good clue. To check it (on a cool engine) if you can, remove the tubing from the air filter end of the turbo (it should be easier to remove than the exhaust side) reach in-side and turn the turbine with your fingers, it should turn freely. All so check for holes in the tubing/piping from the turbo to the intake manifold and that the turbo waste-gate is working like it should.Hope this helps, good luck.

Always remeber when driving a turbo vehicle, when arriving at your destination, let the engine tick over for a minute or two to allow the turbo to cool before switching off the engine
