Question:
I had an engine service light come on the other day, the people at AutoZone hooked up their little computer to my truck ('96 Chevy Silverado) and it said that it was the oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter. If I replace the sensor, will the light go off by itself, or do i still need to take it to a garage and have it shut off.

What does the expression means by 3 bolt main?
1. Just because you have an O2 sensor code does not mean you have a bad O2 sensor. Replacing this part may solve nothing. In my experience about half of all O2 sensor codes are actually caused by some other issue - the sensor itself is fine.

2. The code needs to be cleared manually even if that does fix it.
What performance spark plug cables would be suitable for a Proton Satria Gti 1.8l 16v DOHC??
Of course, you can always do the sensor yourself and bring it back to Autozone to clear the code. If it works you didn't just waste $100+/- on a part you didn't need.

The light should go off by itself, but if it doesnt, no you dont need to go to the garage to have it done. Just disconnect the positive terminal on your battery and it will reset the computer.More Questions & Answers ...
