i own a shop,and you can do this from the drivers side door,,when you use the key to open it, it dis-arms it,,using the key to lock it will also arm it,,good luck hope this help,s.,happy new years.

What could be wrong with my car's heater?

Normally every factory alarm can be disarmed by unlocking the driver's door with the key. Test it by locking all the doors with the driver's window down. Wait a few mins for the alarm to set, then open the driver's door by reaching inside and using the handle. Do not unlock with the power locks first, just pull the tab manually if you have to. Once the alarm sounds, stick the key in the door and twist it to unlock position. If that doesn't work corectly, it usually not cost-effective to repair a factory alarm, just disable it, get an aftermarket unit instead. The install shop can disable it for you permanently.
