I am having troubles with my lights.?

Question:
I have a 98 lumina. My brake lights and my signal lights r not working. I cheked the bulbs, flashers and fuses aand they r all good. The wird thing is the bracke light in the window dose wor but it is the only working brake light and my emergency lights work. I am thinking that my main switch in the cosole is bad. Can that switch effect the 2 brake lights that r out?
