Question:
Discovered yesterday (yes, merry christmas indeed) someone has (what looks like) keyed my navy yaris. Its on the passenger door panel - from just under the wing mirror to just short of the handle. Feels deep and I can see what looks like metal.
Obviously want to get it fixed (thinking about selling it within the next year) so it looks like normal and also doesn't start corroding. After a quick read on here I'm getting concerned with how much it will cost. I want a proper job done (ie I don't trust myself to do it and may be too deep for that) - is it better to take it back to the toyota garage and have it done properly - they would definately have the right colour to match although I guess it would be more expensive?
How do you quickly get rid of the smell of gasoline from a garage?
How much is it likely to cost? being just the one panel? I'm wary of using my insurance as have not been driving long enough to have any no claims protection (a year and a half to go!). However I don't have an excess to pay if I was to claim on insurance.
thanks!

find a good local bodyshop from friends recommendations as that will be cheaper than going to a dealers bodyshop.i just had a door lock fixed after someone broke in and that involved spraying the whole door and blending it to the front and rear wing and that cost £300 so maybe yours will be the same

The trunk of my car leaks when it rains. How can I fix it?
I went to the dealership for the repair as the car was only 6 months old and I was a bit precious about it.
They told me they could T-cut it back, but it wouldn't really look much better, so I went for a respray of the bonnet. It cost me £100. I didn't bother claiming it on the insurance.
The guy at the garage told me my mistake had been polishing the car after washing it. He said the shinier the car, the more people like to key it. Now I only wash it to get the bird poo off and I never polish it.

Does any one know if the heated seats on a 2001 Lexus is on a fuse?
With my experiences in the past, I would ring your insurance company, not mentioning you have damage to your car, Then ask them if you made a claim would this affect you premium next year? Then also ask them for the recommended repairer for there insurance company, then I would take my the car down there and get them to give you a price for cash, whilst down there I would also get them to show you some of there workmanship. Make sure whom ever does the repair, provides a lifetime warranty on the repair. Hope this helpsgo to a reputable repair shop ..ask your insurance company who they use ..or ask the AA ..don't cost anything to ask expect to pay 100 to 150 .. get it done soon.. if you do claim it will be more costly over the period of time needed to get back to no claims protection statues
