For a car theft do i need to file claims with both my auto and home insurance?

Question:
Car was broken into last night.. My driver side window was shattered, my dashboard was cracked. Stereo, 30 cds and my work briefcase were stolen. need to know if my auto insurance cover all property or do i have to use my home insurance too.
