When your motor is running you are spinning the pump to create pressure. The high pressure side of your power steering system runs about 60 psi. I would check into the high pressure side hose or the return hose. Where the high pressure side goes into the pump their is a o ring that can wear out to. Usually if its the high pressure side it will squirt out and your engine will start smoking because of the fluid hitting the hot engineI have a 1994 Altima, Its hub caps are stolen. What happens if I dont replace the hub caps ?
get the leak sealed at the local walmart, which is usually cheap.check and make sure that your pump lid is on tight, if it is on tight and keeps leaking you may have a crack in the pump or in the line. Look while the engine is running and see where it is leaking from. Does your steering not feel the same as it normally does? you need to be sure to keep the pump full so you don't burn the pump up.
