Besides a Dealership where can I take my car for this type of repair?

Question:
I think I have a cracked head gasket, because my coolant my sludgy which was making the car start to run hot. Is this the type of repair you can trust with a garage, or should this be strictly a dealership repair? I can afford the repair(probably) I just don't want to risk taking it to a place that will wrongly identify the problem, fix the wrong thing, and the same problem keeps happening....

what is the best way to tell which axle needs replaced on a front wheel drive car?

There should be many good places to get your vehicle repaired other than the high priced dealership. If you don't know anyone who can recommend a good independent shop, I would suggest visiting a couple of legitimate auto parts stores in the same area (NAPA, Carquest, Federated. etc) Ask the guys at the counter for a recommendation of a couple of places that do that kind of work. If you get a couple from each, see if there is a common recommendation or two and go visit those shops and see what they look like. If they are busy and appear to be professional, I would ask for a quotation to do the work.

Any good garage could repair. just look for one that is AAA approved as they will help you in the event of a post repair problem or call the better business bureau before you make a decision.

97 ford t-bird battery light stays on whats the problem?

Any car repair shop can do it. Dealership repair shops will charge you more. Any mechanic that knows what they are doing will know what to do. If it's a head gasket, the part doesn't cost much but the labor does. My brother is a mechanic and if he were here right now he could tell you straight out what the problem was and how much to fix it. He's the only one I trust with my car.
