What might cause a bumping sound from the rear of a 1994 Corolla?

Question:
The car is in good shape (160k miles) and has had recent work done on the rear bumper after an accident. The sound happens in forward or reverse when starting from zero, and sounds like there's a softball in the trunk (there's nothing in the trunk.) It only happens once per acceleration. If there's something loose from the bumper repair, how can I prove it so the body shop will open it up and fix it? Thanks in advance for any answers......

What could be wrong with my van if when I step on the brakes the oil light comes on??

I don't know what state you're in, but you should not have to prove anything. Have you talked to the owner? I would go immediately back to the repair shop and have the mechanic who worked on it, go around the block with you. I would tell them, they didn't fix this correctly, and if they agree to repair it again, I would wait at the garage and watch them.
If they won't fix it without saying they're going to charge you to do it, I would contact the local better business bureau and file a complaint.
However, it is possible that something else is broken, but I wouldn't take that for granted. It sounds like a bad bumper install. You could also, take it to another shop and pay a nominal fee to have them diagnose the problem to be sure before approaching the first garage.
Don't let them steamroll you. If you're nervous take someone with you as a witness.
You can also, file a small claims action against them, but that would be my last resort.

I was in an accident &jsut got my car back and there is a vibration in the rear when i turn what could it be?

insulation in bumber is not secure . it s a large piece of foam which may have been made smaller by impact damage

where is the coolant sending unit located and the cost?

u kinda need to identify where around the rear u mean. if its near the back rims, it could be the bushing or suspension. im not sure where the diff is on a corolla but everytime u chnage gears to reverse or wen u accelerate it might have some impact on the diff, or the rear axel ( is it rear wheel drive?). you should get it checked out if its really bothering u. as for if its something which the repair company did. i dont think you will beable to prove it. best to get advice from different mechanics and they could probably tell you if its been tampered with.
