2006 jeep liberty -- engine seems to run a little rough when waiting for stop lights and in park.?

I just purchased this car 2 weeks ago-it had 13000 miles when I got it--to me it seems like the engine runs a little rough-- we have a small gps that attaches to the window and boy does it vibrate in this car-- also sometimes when you start to take off the sound reminds me of a plane taking off--the rpm usually runs a little over 1 when I am waiting at lights and about 2 give or take when moving -- i had it in to the service department but they said this is normal for this vehicle--is this true?

No actually it isn't. take the service guy to one with the same engine on the lot, then another and another se if any of them shake like yours, they wont..sounds like something with the spark module, but hey it's under warranty, you need to show them they are wrong. Yes it does happen, the dealer service dudes can be wrong, they just won't admit it...

Apparently I need my car aligned. Would that cause a shaking/rattling noise in the front when I drive?

I have an slightly older Jeep & they told me the same thing.
I took mine to my friendly mechanic not Jeep related - he tuned it up, replaced a tire that was old of round or something like that & it is smooth riding for 5 years with his care of her.
I love my Jeep Cherokee.
