Tires' experts, a poor guy needs ur help!?

Question:
my ford exact 'real' tire size is 185/70/14, however, i replaced the front both tires with 195/70/14 (used tires). My 1992 ford-topz has 180,000 on it. Hows bad or good that?

Car temperature guage...?

As long as you put matched set of tires on the car, going up one size is not going to cause you any problems. Your speedometer might read a bit off, (slightly slower than your actual speed), but the difference will be very minor!

how do i repair a 1992 acura integra's front brakes?

Not a problem. You could go up or down at least one size. 175 or 195's.

How to restart a car with a "dead" battery?

There isn't much difference in those sizes but you will want to keep the same size pair (both 195's) together either on the front or the rear...never on the same side of the car. If they are on the front keep in mind it may throw the speedometer off a few miles per hour at worst.

what is the minimum thickness of the rear brake pad for 2000 honda accord (4 cylinder model)?

it really dosnt' matter. just make sure the pares are the same, fronts are the same, backs are the same. I have a few friends with topazes and one of them just killed the car a few months ago, it was beat to ****, and it lasted about 500 000km. if the car has been maintained it will last, I would go for a cheap set of tires, Wal-Mart brand would be ok, if you're thinking it won't last very long, with smaller tires you're going to mess up your speedomer and gas milage.

How do I change the right rear hub assembly on my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4 Wheel drive?

no problem is they don't rub on your fenders

what tyre pressure is correct for my bmw 323i low profiles?

Well one thing about going with a taller tire is it will throw off your speedometer by a couple of miles an hour. You should replace the rears with the same size tires as the front when the time comes to get newer ones that is. Since the front ones wore out faster than rear ones I assume you didn't rotate your tires(every 3000-5000 mi switch the fronts to the rear and the rear ones to the front) rotating the tires will make them all last a lot longer

how to repair a radial tire?

i own a repair shop, and it will work that way for a while,,but later on you might want to get to other ones the same size for it,,you might notice a driving difference in it,,other than that it wont hurt anything,,good luck hope this help,s.

there is a grinding noise coming from rear of my truck, what could it be?

the problem is that the 195 tires a bit bigger than the the 185.. and by that i mean in diameter.

Truck Tires and used parts ?

that wouldnt be much of a problem with rear tires, except that it is probably illegal, ( i know it is here in germany) and that no insurance will pay you a rusty dime in case of an accident.

My car is making funny noises. What couould it be?

on the front axle however, the difference is bigger. the whole car was designed for a specific size of tires. it doesnt matter if they are broader or thinner, but with a different diameter, all the angles in your steering setup are off, the wheels inclination is off too... and that may well affect the cars handling. not much, i grant you. but still too much for me to feel safe about it. maybe worse is the fact that with bigger tires your speedmeter (right word?) will go slow. in other words, you will be driving faster than it shows. again, not much, but with any bad luck enough to be pulled over... i guess you can imagine where it might go from there...

why do i have to keep pressing my rear defroster button??

according to the tire aspect ratio chart, given your tire size "185/70/14" the first set of numbers "185" buy putting a "195" on there instead you only have increased the width of the tire by a very little which shoudlnt even be noticable in the feel of the drive or performance. its when you start messing with the middle aspect # of the tire is when your gonna start changing some charecteristics. you should be fine for now. but now a days tire technology isnt as simple as the old bias-ply tires of yesteryear.

How do you replace a burned out light bulb from the headlight of a 93 Honda Prelude?

The 195 tire is slightly taller than the 185 and in fact may have been an optional tire size. The potential problems are that the speedometer might be off a little bit or some rubbing on the body or suspension , if you have none of that there is no real downside But that being said it is always better to keep all four tires the same

Does anyone know where I can get a pic of how the belt goes on a 96` Cavalier?

You'll be ok. The only thing is your speedometer might not read exactly right. Find a nice friendly cop and have him follow you for a couple of miles to find out how much its off. I did that with my car. It's not a big difference only 3 miles an hour. Check to be sure.
