i own a repair shop, and you need to re-check the instruction paper that came with it,,i think it is supposed to be grounded to the best of my knowledge,,i have them also,,and i bolted my ballast to the fender well, which is metal, and it did real good,if its buzzing it may have a wire crossed on it,,check it again,,this may be why your loosing some of you intensity on them,,i never had that problem but mine burn really hot,,but there bright,,good luck ,i hope this help,s.has anyone heard of the windtunnel air filter for autoes?

most of the kits I've seen are grounded through the connectors but it would not be out of the norm for some manufactures to also ground to the case which would require the case to be grounded to the chassis.
