Take it to a reputable shop and have it checked. Was this car ever involved in an accident? It should state so on the paperwork....
when you have a powerfull lighter car like that you wear your tires down fast even if you dont peel out or tak off fast.
once had a chevy that had an inherent fault with the A-frame. bought tires and paid for alignments to no avail. finally just got rid of it. see an independent alignment center or two and see if some of the mechanics can't tell you the truth...'cause GM will never.
does holding the clutch ,consume more fuel , even though i do not accelerate ?
Performance tires wear out more quickly. Softer, stickier rubber. If you aren't an aggressive driver, go to tire rack.com and see if you can't find an all-weather radial tire with a higher treadwear rating in the correct size for your cars wheels.
I need a brake repair quote... any mechanics out there?
alignment could be off, how often do you rotate your tires, it should be done every other oil change, also lubricating the chasis needs to be done, the technician whos changing your oil might be skipping this step, ask questions next time your at the garage, have your suspension checked also good luck2001 Pontiac Grand AM Heater will not work, Can anyone help!?

I think I have a bad Thermostat and my temp gauge fluctuates....?
You did not say what they are wearing from. If the front are wearing from the inside or outside, then you need front end alignment. Do not go to dealer for tires. If you have a tirestore like Discount tires or some other tire place, try them. For example, Discount tire will match prices and if you have a problem with the tire before it hits the tire wear marks they will replace the tire for FREE and you just only pay for the warranty. The other tire places PRORATE the tire and you still pay for the warranty. I had a nail on the outside of my tire and got a free tire. The other places I would have had to pay a prorated fee for sure. Then hopefully they have the same tire too at the other tire shops. Montgomery ward was selling cheap tires, I had a problem with one, they prorated it, but since they did not have that specific brand of tire it would cost me $60 more dollars. Now i am a diehard Discount Tire customer. Two possibilties, one is that they are cheap tires, and that the dealer put them one, that would be my best guess. and the second is that the car is out of alignment. there are other possibilities, but that is the two biggest. I've seen this quite a bit, I suggest take it to a brake and suspention repair shop and have a front end check done and also have the alignemnt checked, also have the tire balance checked. I would start there, and if all turns out good, I would replace the tires with a good quality tire, don't go cheap on tires.
