Question:
Gage goes above full and stays no matter how much gas is in the tank - any ideas on what to look for to correct. Shorted wire, bad sensor in tank, bad instrument panel gage? Help

Differential Fluid Replacement?
The gage works off a grounding principal (ohm resistance). If you have a bare wire that's touching the frame or body - your gage will peg out. Dodge Man is pointing you in the right direction!i own a shop and the wire that goes to the sending unit on it has got a bare spot in it somewhere, and that's whats causing this to happen, also a blown fuse will cause it to go up,but a bad wire is the most common cause of this happening,if you,ll follow the wire from the tank up you,ll find it,i think on that one there will only be one wire coming from the tank, but you,ll see where its got a bad spot in it good luck with it hope this helps.
What would be the best way to clean up your car? So there is no dust, mud, and car hair, etc??
gm gage will go to full on an open circut only it will go empty on a shorted circuitbroken wire or on ground or bad sending unit
1995 gmc jimmy having a hard time starting?
I've seen this several times. The wire to the sending unit is not making a complete connection. And it's most likely at the sender, wiggle the connector.where it plugs into the top of the unit.More Questions & Answers ...
