I have an 05 Chevrolet Cobalt. I’ve been having this shifting problem lately. (btw; it is an automatic transmission)
It accelerates faster and makes this weird noise like a race car (for the last two days). I don’t know how to describe it but It does not feel like normal shifting it is harder than that I can feel it. Malfunction indicator lamp is on. (Thank god I still have my GM warranty) It is serious isn’t it? Do u guys think that there is a problem on my gears?

i own a repair shop and the cobalts are having problems with the automatic transmissions in them right now,all of them are almost giving some kind of a problem,and yes id be thankful for the warranty on that one,they say those are real expensive to repair,but this one will be covered under your warranty,but id take it in as soon as possible,it will get worse if it does like all the other ones have been doing,good luck with it.hope this helps.use your warranty!!, have your trans. checked out

Does a coil pack part of a distributor?
could be as simple as low fluid in the transmission to a faulty clutch assembly.ABS light coming on ,car wont start?
the problem really is the fact it has done this for 2 days, with a warning light, yet you continued to drive it. everytime you felt that, more n more damage was being created.
get it to the dealership asap.
Take it to the dealer! ASAP before it gets worse! Any leaks? Is the fluid level full?

Take it to the dealer and have it checked out, you have a warranty, use it. Also, have you had the recalls done on your car, I think there were at least 2 for that year. One had to do with fuel lines, which may be part of the problem.2002 pontiac with a signal light clicking at all the time even?
IF i had to guess i would say it is probally a speed sensor issue. this sensor sends a signal to the computer which in turn controls the transmission controls.yes take to fixt it in a time chevrolet had the worse transmission problems .hard shifting and noise yeah is a big problem it can get worse or maybe is electronic problem the pc control madual is timing the shift slowly that normal oooo also check you fluid on the transmissiion deep stick remenber for transmission fluid check you car must be on in operating temperature with the car on after three minutes check the fluid level I hade aproblem with a dogde neon the cable same as yours ... but I found out it was electronic the cables were wet so timing was slowly if you have cable like electronicly cable under the car make sure they are not open or wet ... check also a transmission fluid call lukas is a white battle with red and blue letter is a good liquid for transmission problems ...read it and check if the fluid apply to you problems or call you manufactor sometimes cars a a big list of details that goent bad in all the cars of the same kind
if you really need to ask how to check the fluid level pls go take some classes on how to be a real man. get it to the dealer yesterday.
when your check engine lite comes on the computer goes to a default program that doesent mean the trans will blow but it says get it checked out soon
no real problems most of the time may be just a bad switch in trans
