how do i run a head light on my tecumseh engine?
As far as freeze protection goes - antifreeze doesn't deteriorate. But mixed in with the antifreeze are all sorts of protective additives. It is these additives that deteriorate! And when they do - it is bad news.
Remember the time when all it took was a six pack of beer, duck tape and screwdriver to fix a car?
The ones to watch are the detergents that keep your cooling system clean. Think of them as new soap in a sink of fresh dishwater. Initially the food products on the dishes go into solution - but as more and more dishes are washed those food products become suspended and the water becomes "dirty" so to speak.
The same thing happens in the cooling system - except the products the protective additives are there to "clean" come from deteriorating surfaces, gasses that by-pass gaskets etc.
help,,, eight months ago i paid £50 for a new battery for my ford ka.?
When the protective additive is gone the solids collect at the bottom of the radiator and start corroding the radiator core. And eventually plug passages - the car will begin to run hotter etc.
When turning the steering wheel, it locks and car stalls?
And you'll be needing a new radiator.
does anyone know how to remove car dents cheaply.?
So best change antifreeze before the additives are gone, and you'll not need a radiator flush -- 3 - 5 years max.
I need a wiring diagram for a Rover 620ti.?
The flush is not an easy thing to do - and requires removing the radiator hose to do it right. But then you run into problems because the thermostat won't allow the water from the engine to flow out in the manner you'd like.
1996 Olds Cutlass Supreme, gets moderatly hot then normal?
So choose who does the flush very very carefully. Some engines have vent valves around the thermostat that help and are absolutely necessary to refill the system - so again choose who does the flush very very carefully.
Does a new transmission installed in a 1996 Lumina Van really cost $2,500 and is it woth it?
Better yet - change the antifreeze before you need a flush!

Typically 2-5 years, depending on mix and brand.
Mine was 5 years, it depends on the anti-freeze.
I have a friend who owns a radiator shop . He says if everyone would change anti freeze and backflush every 2 years he would have to close shop.Best way to tell if it is still good is with coolant test strips available at any auto parts store.
