i own a shop and there's two possibilities on this one ,either you have a lot of moisture in the distributor cap on it,or it has jumped timing on it,and unless its high mileage i wouldn't think it would jump timing,but i did have one of those with only 80 thousand miles on it jump timing,because the timing chain and both gears was worn out on it,this may be your problem with it if it has any mileage at all on it,it should run if you got gas and fire,and its in time, it has to run,so check the timing,this is an important part of it being able to start and run good,that's all i can tell you right now on it,good luck with it hope this helps.Honda Accord 2002 Gear Delay more than 3-4 sec?
if it is backfiring, timing is off. have u had timing belt changed? it could have jumped a knotch. have u checked distributor cap and rotor?sounds like the timing belt slipped, unless you just did plugs or wires

What engine is in it? Is it the 3.0L V6? These engines have a traditional distributor that could be out of adjustment. If it is any of the other engines then it could be a position sensor (i.e. crank position sensor or cam position sensor). Then of course it could be any of the other sensors possibly reading out of range (i.e. temp, mass air flow, ect.) If you feel up to it, go to an auto parts house and get the manual or take it to a competent mechanic, preferably one you know and trust.Should i get my car throttle cleaned?
have you tried to check to see if the timeing has jump ,pull numer 1 cylinder spark plug ,insert screw driver into cylinder slowly rotate crank and get to dtc dead top center see if rotor boton is at #1 spark plug wireMore Questions & Answers ...
