one of my spark plugs was stuck and it broke then i got it off but the peices went into the combustion chamber how would i get that cleaned out

Best take the head off. Once you've done that you can check the valves and ring gaps and do any needed work. Don't forget to check the threads on that plug hole or you'll be taking it off again.take the head off, or if its a old V-8 I would just fire it up and floor it. DO NOT fire it up and floor it
You HAVE to get the pieces out before cranking the engine.
You may have already bent valves or broken a piston if you spun the engine with loose bits in the combustion chanber... :-(

yea the only real way to get anything out of there would be taking the head off to get all the shavings out... dont try to roll it over untill you do so.Some stuff might get into the bores, causing damage to piston or even the walls of the block... hope that help ya..Do you repair a car hood, or just buy an after market hood?
In the mid-seventies, I had a modified Dodge Challenger that had a spark plug behind the headers that was nearly impossible to remove; naturally, when I tried it broke and part of the insulation went into the combustion chamber. I contacted Champion (the manufacturer of the plugs) and they told me, "Don't worry about it; the porcelain will get crushed and be blown out of the exhaust!" Naturally, they were wrong as within five hundred miles, a piece of the porcelain got into the cylinder and caused a piston to seize (I ruined a perfectly good engine).How can i make my 1984 Buick regal as fuel efficient as possible?
If you need to take the head off to retrieve the broken spark plugs, do it; it's still cheaper than replacing an entire engine. Have the car towed to a good mechanic and tell him what happened. It's going to cost you a couple of hundred dollars (at least) but, as I said, it's cheaper than replacing an entire engine! Good luck!

Well now you have a real problem, if you can't fish the parts out of the cylinder you will have to take the head off. Try to bump the engine until you can see the top of the piston through the plug hole and then see if you see the loose parts in there and get a special tool from the parts store that has a grab arm on a cable that you can stick in the hole and see if you can retrieve the loose parts, good luck!How do i get the taillight out of my 01 rodeo ls?
they have an attachment for a shop vac .they also have little valcum cleaners with like a pincle design. you might be able to remove these small pieces with it. other wise remove the headMy GEO 1.0 loses power and makes a varoom sound, sometimes back fires,?
This is risky so think carefully. Get your vacuum cleaner, a clear plastic hose the same size as the plugs hole, connect the p hose and vac with tape or your hand, insert and suck out what you can, twist the hose to move it around in the chamber, best of luck.leave that plug out and crank the engine over,it might blow it out.you said your car wont start?.did you get the wires on right and did you get the plugs guaged right?

There is no way to guarantee any suction or other solution will get all the parts. take the head off and clean the cylinder with a shop wrag. or if you feel lucky start the motor and the pieces might blow out the exhaust but not likelyMore Questions & Answers ...
