Question:
I put the key in, and try to start the car. If the door is open the car starts to beep like normal, but none of the gages light up or move. The car doesn't make any sound when you try to crank.
help manual transmission problem?
The dome light works, heater fans run, headlights. Jump starting doesn't do anything. Battery cables are all new.
do you have to remove the bumper or fender to remove headlights on a 98 neon?
Before the car died, it kept losing power. After trying to start it a few times and it dying, the starter just kept cranking even after the key was in the off position. I think the starter burnt out, but I am not sure that would stop the fuel pump from engaging like normal before even trying to start the car.
Fuses look fine.
We're looking at a G6 GTP and we're wondering about the supercharged motor in it?

Before you spend any money unnecessarily, take out the battery and bring to to a full service shop. Have them test the electrolyte specific gravity and do a load test on the battery. This will determine whether or not the battery is good.
If it is good then I would focus on a bad ground, then the starter and / or solenoid.

You may have multiple problems because you stated the starter stayed engaged after the key was in the off position. That seems to indicate a short somewhere.

If its a ford you have a starter seloind just follow the cable from the positive side of the battery and it goes to the seloind then it goes to the starter maybe its the seloind or your starter is shot1995 Camaro Z-28 Problem, Please help!!?
When my timing belt went out, my car would not start at all and wouldn't make any noise. That also happened when my battery died.
