Question:
I had the oil changed, the air filter changed and tightened the gas cap and it still won't go out.
Answers:
What should my car water temp gauge read in numbers at low, half, high in *c and *F?
Oil changed, air filter changed and you tightened the gas cap. OK, that takes care of one of about a thousand possible causes of a Check Engine Light. No matter what I try to clean my cars windows, the front window looks streaked...HELP?
To turn it off have the problem diagnosed and repaired, then have the light reset when the repair is completed. Check engine lights can indicate anything from a minor to a catastrophic failure. Its cheaper in the long run not to take chances.

Take it to auto zone and have the code put in to shut it offHow do I loosen a radiator hose from it's bracket?
You can take it to a place like Autozone and get the code erased, but make sure that you know what the code is and why it turned your MIL (malfuncion indicator light = check engine light) on in the first place. They will be able to tell you what the code means and if you need something repaired. It is best to catch it now before something possibly gets damaged. The oil change and air filter typically will not set a code. An open gas cap could, however. A MIL turns off whenever the fault that caused the code is not present for three consecutive trips. If the MIL has been on for more than a few days, you most likely have some kind of problem that needs to be resolved. It may be something simple or something complicated, but it is wise to get it checked out now. Hope this helps.More Questions & Answers ...
